Searching for project items

Search for a project item to quickly navigate to it in the Projects app.

How it works

The project search bar is available from the upper-right corner of any page within a project. The search operates by scanning the title and description fields of project items. It is not case sensitive.

The search uses AND logic, enabling precise, accurate, and focused results. For example, if you enter the search term "access control", all project items that contain the word "access" and "control" are searched.

File searches

If you previously uploaded a file to a project, and need to search for it, you can:

  • search for the file by name
  • search for text contained within the file
    Note

Searching for text contained within a file is not supported for files greater than 7 MB. The search operates by scanning the first 100 kilobytes of any file under 7 MB.

Image searches

If you previously inserted an image in a rich text field, and specified alternative text for the image, you can search for the image by its alternative text description.

For more information about specifying alternative text for images, see Inserting images in rich text fields.
